BroadBand Stimulus Program
CTDI and our Products Division can help Carriers apply for grants within the $7.2 billion for Broadband Initiatives!

CTDI Products that align with the $7.2 Billion Broadband Initiative: The stimulus bill President Obama signed on February 17th included provisions for $7.2 billion in spending for broadband initiatives.  The main purpose of this unprecedented initiative is to provide ubiquitous broadband to all of America, focusing on unserved and underserved rural areas. CTDI’s DSL extension products (GoDigital & Conklin) are RUS certified and excel precisely in low-density, rural settings. More specifically, by delivering 8Mbps DSL at distances over 100kft on existing copper plant, CTDI’s XCel-4e is the ideal solution to address this broadband initiative in a practical manner and in the time required.

Stimulus Details: The US Departments of Agriculture and Commerce are currently working on detailing the outlines of the grants that will be made available very soon. CLECs, Independent telephone companies, power utilities, and other organizations need to start planning and developing the projects and partnerships required for successful grant applications and proposals. CTDI has been attending and actively collaborating at the public meetings and round tables that are being held in Washington, DC to further define the terms and definitions that will be part of the grants.

The administration’s timing is aggressive with both the NTIA and RUS continuing their work at the public meetings in Washington, DC. Private sector firms should get their partnerships and proposals started with the available information. The first Notice of Funds Available (NOFA) will be made available as early as April and will have further proposal requirements and information.

CTDI Support: As we continue to attend the public meetings on March 19th, 23rd, and 24th, we look forward to start collaborating with our customers and keep them updated. We encourage you to contact Laura Lopez, CTDI Products Manager at 610-793-8587 or by E-mail: laura.lopez@ctdi.com if you have any questions or would like to request our support and assistance in planning and executing your stimulus proposals.
