Logistics
CTDI’s warehousing, distribution, inventory management and logistics business grew out of CTDI’s
success as a One-Stop telecommunications repair company. Due to the
changing needs of our telecommunications repair customers, inventory
management, logistics expertise, expedited delivery capabilities, etc. all
became integral to the success of our “One-Stop” repair concept. This
opened the door to the warehousing and distribution of the types of products
we already managed on behalf of our repair customers.
The strategy was to manage all of the customers’ repair requirements, not
just units currently repaired in-house by CTDI. In conjunction, CTDI
began marketing the On-Line Repair concept, whereby an extensive “On-Line”
stock of fully tested equipment is maintained solely for the purpose of
providing an immediate exchange to the customer.
These innovative material
management programs gave CTDI’s customers what they needed: the ability to
reduce on-hand inventories due to faster turnaround time, and the ability to
almost completely remove themselves from the maintenance business, allowing
them to focus on their core business of managing and growing their wireline
and wireless networks.
CTDI provides our customers access to an established network of 30 Strategic Repair/Logistics Centers (SRCs) that is
unmatched in the telecommunications industry. Within each of our SRC
facilities are in- depth material management systems that are diverse,
comprehensive and innovative. By utilizing these industry proven repair and
logistics systems, our customers have control and total visibility of all
distribution, fulfillment and returns processing activity.
Today, CTDI manages over 100 different repair and logistics projects
from over 37 facilities around the world.
Accordingly, CTDI manages, warehouses and deploys over 64.5 million telecom products annually.
CTDI possesses the knowledge and experience
to devise a comprehensive logistics program that will meet our customer’s
current and future requirements for transporting product anywhere throughout
the United States. In addition to the extensive experience that accompanies
operating our own fleet that services our warehouses, repair centers,
vendors, and customers, CTDI has longstanding relationships with major
transportation carriers including DHL, FedEx and UPS. This enables CTDI to
provide our customers with a best-cost, best-service transportation solution
for the movement of equipment into and out of their networks.
